Here it is.
I can linkify it if it's too "edgy".

Thought it might be fun to make a small poem for the lulz. So here is it, please correct me on my spelling as I rather suck at english :P

Wintersday is arriving soon
organised for Dwyana’s boon
or are you hoping on Grenth his grace
with presents and bombs to replace
In all 5 cities it will be fun
grab a present and run, run, run
before Grench’ helpers get you good
blowing away your Wintersday mood
So drink that tonic and turn to snow
grab your gingerbread shield or candy cane bow
now bring that Wintersday spirit alive
before the rival gods arrive

Oooh, I love the poem! Very well written, and fun to read. Really gets into the Wintersday spirit.

I'd like to enter the workshop too. Haven't been finding the inspiration to draw much recently, but this might help me along nicely. Also the Halloween one looked like so much fun! It was great to browse through what people had come up with and seeing their progress in the thread.
I do have an idea for a drawing already, something with an elementalist conjuring up snow for people in Elona.

I can also donate 50k to the Most Original Art Award.

so, I need screenshots of Kamadan decorated for the entry I'm thinking of doing. I have quite a few, but most are junk. If any of you went crazy and took a bunch of screenshots last year or w/e could you post them here for me please and thank you

I'm thinking of a miniature village Kamadan type-thing.

@Verene: Thanks for setting up the space!

Awesome artwork and WsIP!

I'll be doing a video of more Wintersday music (Droknar's Forge & Ascension Song) this year.

I had a good long think about what I wanted to do for this Wintersday, and for some reason the 'Christmas in the trenches' theme got stuck in my mind for good - the christmas truce on the battlefield. Then this rubens painting came to my mind and I thought, that could be cool. So I've been doodling...

I quite like the concept, some ragged wounded soldiers from both sides getting together for wintersday, with a few ascalon ruins in the background and Dwayna watching contently from above. Totally unsure about the media/styles, this one calls for lineless painting but I'm rubbish at that, so any input would be great. Oh yes, and the Charr anatomy is something I need to look at, this is just a 30mins sketch thingy

Oh, very nice Morag! The sketch is already looking good, with good composition and mood to it.
I agree that it would probably work well with lineless painting, so perhaps you should start out with filling in the lines as you normally do, then when it's starting to take shape, keep painting over some of the lines until most of them are gone? If you need emphasis for an outline, instead of using a line, just use a dark shadow that's almost like a line or a very light highlight depending on where the lightsource is coming from. That way you won't need to deviate too much from your normal process, but you can still practice making those outlines disappear as much as you feel comfortable with.

Looking forward to seeing more progress shots.

Donations have been rushing in, we've got a glorious prize pool already! Just a couple of awards are still in need of a sugar daddy! X3

Crucist Ovv: That's a really beautiful poem! I think you should make that an official entry for the poetry award, unless you intend to build upon it further or write up something else. You've clearly got a way with words. ^^

Perynne: added your donation, thanks so much! ^^ I'm glad you want to join us, I really like your art!

Narcissia: that sounds awesomecookies @.@ like a gingerbread construction or using various materials? lol you could make one entirely from candy O.o I wish I had some screenies to help you out with, but just like this years halloween, thsi years wintersday will be my first... <__>''

Shewmake: are you the guy who did the EotN theme on piano last year? I gave you spiritwood planks for an icon, I dunno what could best portray the category of music. XD haha, if you have any better suggestions, please tell! ^^

Morag: I love that concept, it looks great already. I agree with the lineless painting, this calls for the "useful links and tutorials"-section to be done! I'll root out some lineless drawing/painting tuts I like and put them there.

Looking for some advice here - I've been trying to sort out my ideas into some kind of displayable WIP but my knowledge and experience of painting in photoshop is severely lacking and its proving more frustrating than encouraging. I'm considering going to more traditional oil based medium as that is what I'm used to working with but I'm not sure how well it would come across in a photo or scan (probably photo, I never did anything less than A3 while I was at school, my teachers hated me for cluttering up the room :P ). Anyone had any experience of this, or advice as to if I should just battle through and make the best of it or stick with what I know? Thanks

I have two full stacks of Wintergreen Candy Canes to donate. My husband just asks it be split between two prizes.

I'm doing a display: minipets under a tree with GW ornaments on the tree. Currently done: moa chick. Redoing: Gwen-chan, Yakkington if I have time and money for fur. Need to make: polar bear, fungal wallow, Naga, ornaments. Picked up some glass balls and glass paint, seeing if I can manage to make those look good.

@ Tasha I would say stick with what you know, you would have more fun doing it.
